      Hi Jim. It should be a bit more clear if you read my Welcome post, but basically, H means a marginal win, whereas HHHHH means a right drubbing. You can only get D - no such thing as a convincing draw.

      Indeed, Everton win. Liverpool have had a poor start and Everton have looked quite good. Remember, these predictions are all mathematically based, so they're nothing to do with my personal opinion.

    Well, 4 out of 6 in the Premier League yesterday was a decent return. Shame that Reading had to score that last minute equaliser, but hey, you can't have it all, eh?

    With regards to the Championship, less said the better.

    My two 'nailed ons' were Barcelona and PSG away from home who didn't let me down, but wasnt' really difficult for my predictor to get those two right seeing how both teams have started their domestic seasons.

    My punt of the weekend was Valenciennes to beat Lille away at odds of 5/1. Although Lille are Champions League quality, they've had an awaful start to the domestic campaign wining only 2 in 9. However, they showed authority winning by 2-1.

    Although Everton done well to scrap back from being two goals down, they couldn't go one extra for that win. Decent win for Spurs though although the prediction was a little bit more comfortable.

    Bit of a shock - Bayern Munich losing at home. I graded it at a HHHH based on winning all their first 8 games and only conceding 2 goals to date. However, Leverkusen did the job on them as they doubled the goals conceded in one match.

    Not a great weekend so far in terms of correct predictions as have about a 40% strike rate, which in betting terms normally depicts a loss. 50% strike rate is what you're really looking for - I know 50% still doesn't sound particularly high, however, if you were asked to predict the outcome to all matches in a league i.e. without 'cherry picking' games, I reckon you'd struggle to hit the 50% mark. In fact, if you can regularly get over 50% correct then you'd probably be making a decent profit.

    Anyway, a handful of games still to go...
