Champions League Football Predictions 5th & 6th November

The Champions League is back with the return matches from the previous games as we’re getting to a point in the season where games come thick and fast…!

The big match in Group A are against two teams that have not performed domestically.  Real Sociedad are struggling somewhat in the Spanish top flight as they already find themselves 17 points off Barcelona and 6 points from regaining their Champions League place.  Manchester United have also had a bad start in the Premier League, even by their standards, however, winning the last two league matches should’ve given them a boost of confidence.  A win tonight would give them one foot in the next stage, however, a draw is predicted.  Group B’s flagship match tonight sees Real Madrid visit Juventus.  Both teams are currently lying third in their respective domestic leagues, however, Juventus are in desperate need of all three points if they’re looking to proceed in the tournament.  Real Madrid have won all three group games to date, whereas Juventus are struggling with only two points on the board.

In Group C, PSG are dominating the Group as well as domestically in the French league.  They came away with a convincing 4-0 win against Lorient last weekend and should be brimming with confidence.  Meanwhile, Anderlecht have not been as dominant domestically and it’s showing in their Champions League form, losing all three games to date.  Should be a relatively convincing win for PSG, especially at home.  Manchester City have had two disappointing Champions League campaigns in the last two seasons, although they have been drawn in some very tricky groups.  This season, they’re currently sitting in 2nd place, winning two of their opening three matches and only losing to current champions, Bayern Munich.  They face CSKA Moskva at home on tonight and this is probably their most important game in the group stage.  A win would put them six points clear of CSKA and one foot in the next stage.  Home win has been predicted.

I’ll try add a comment for the Wednesday games tomorrow, however, as usual please feel free to comment on the predictions or discuss anything else football related.

Also, I’d be grateful if you could use the social media buttons to the right to share my blog – thanks.

Enjoy…!
