Football Predictions weekend commencing 15th February 2013

So, it's FA Cup weekend again which means there's a distinct lack of Premier League games.  The one which is on offer is Liverpool at home to Swansea.  Liverpool's form has been pretty mixed as of late so personally I think this match could go either way, however, Predictor reckons a marginal home win.

In the Championship, table toppers Cardiff entertain second from bottom Bristol City.  However, it's not as convincing as you may think with Predictor returning a HH due to Bristol's recent improved form.  Watford's recent run of good form means an away win prediction against Birmingham whilst play-off hopeful's Palace and Hull are looking good for home wins.

Turning to North of the border, Celtic has returned a HHHHH against Dundee United, the most convincing prediction there is.  Bayern Munchen who will be eager to wrench the league title back off Borussia Dortmund are looking good for a convincing away win tonight (and winning as we speak).  A bit obscure but going down to German Liga 3 the match between Unterhaching and Osnabruck has returned AAAAA, however, you can get odds of around 13/10, so it'll be worth looking out for that one to see how it turns out.  Have the bookies mis-priced this match?

    The front runners in the championship all got three points as Cardiff, Palace, Hull and Watford all got wins, as predicted. The draw between Forest and Bolton was also correct which gave the Predictor 5 out of 7 for the weekend.

    Celtic's HHHHH was well deserved as they came through as easy 6-2 winners against Dundee United.

    In the French league Marseille set the marker for the weekend with a good win over Valenciennes with table toppers, PSG, to play tomorrow along with Lyon who would be looking to claim back second place.

    Bayern Munchen played on Friday and dispatched Wolfsburg as predicted with a AAAA. Both Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen won their respective matches, however, it seems too little too late as the title race seems all but over.

    Milan are hunting for that last champions league place in Serie A and the Predictor reckoned a marginal win against Parma and they did just that to set down a marker for the rest of the teams.

    La Liga is all but practically over as Barcelona showed they can dig out a win where required with a 2-1 away win against Granada. The assumption was it was going to be a bit more convincing but a win is what they wanted.

    Lyon were predicted a draw against Bordeaux, however, they managed to grab their 2nd place back with a convincing 4-0 victory, with PSG playing later on.

    In Italy Serie A, Napoli had the chance to close the gap on Juventus as the title race is heating up, and were predicted a win. But mid table Sampdoria managed to fight out a nil nil draw to leave Juventus four points in front.

    Over in Spain, Valencia are pushing for one of the champions league places and did themselves no harm with a win over Mallorca, keeping the pressure on Malaga. The title race is all but over, however, second place Atletico Madrid take on Real Valladolid this evening.
