Champions League Football Predictions 22nd & 23rd October

It’s Champions League week and there’s some real tasty games coming up…!

Looking at Tuesday’s games, the pick of Group E is Chelsea visiting Schalke 04.  The top of the Bundesliga sees your usual candidates and Schalke are generally perceived as the weaker of the four German teams represented in the Champions League.  Although they’ve still got a strong outfit, 2012 Champions League winners, Chelsea seem a little too strong and Predictor has put them marginal favourites.  Group F see Arsenal visit last years Champions League beaten finalists, Borussia Dortmund.  The Gunners have been in blistering form this season and currently sit top of the Barclays Premier League.  Similarly, Dortmund are hanging on Bayern Munich’s coattails and have won 4 out of 5 games in all competitions and will require Lewandowski to be on top form.  But Arsenal’s home advantage seems to give them the edge as a marginal home win in forecast.  Napoli finished runners up in Serie A last season and have started well this season, currently lying second behind a rampant Roma, which is their only league defeat in this campaign.  The French Ligue 1 does appear to be a bit of a two horse race this season with PSG and newly promoted Monaco leading the way and with Marseille having a mixed start to the season and having lost their last two league games, Napoli are looking good for a win.

Atletico Madrid are aiming to break the stranglehold that Barcelona and Real Madrid have on La Liga and they're currently flying high in the League.  Austrian Wien are new comers to the Champions League fold and despite the point they already have they're not predicted to have much luck against the Spanish outfit.  In Group H the big match is Milan against Barcelona - this would've been a far more competitive match a few seasons back but the current Milan squad is far from its best.  The predictor reckons a fully comprehensive win due to Milan's current form, but I personally think that it won't be quite a complete tonking - maybe a couple of goals.

Anyway, I'll try get Wednesday predictions out tomorrow, however, please remember to +1 or share using the social media buttons on the right hand side.

Enjoy...!
