The Premier League kicks off with the lunchtime match as title chasing Manchester City visit Everton. Not always an easy place to visit but the Predictor reckons Manchester City will be too strong and an away win is forecast. Next in line is a bottom of the table clash as struggling Aston Villa and QPR meet at Villa Park. Both teams have had a slight change in form but can't be separated. Liverpool are still keeping up the Champions League chase but it may be too little too late, however, they are one of the form sides of the Premier League and predicted to beat struggling Southampton. Stoke and West Brom are both safe, however, Stoke's form is pretty awful at the moment and this reflects in the prediction of an away win for West Brom. Swansea is always a tough place to go to and Arsenal have struggled against Swansea before. A draw is predicted as both teams are showing indifferent form. The match which is predicted as the most comprehensive, and not surprisingly, is Manchester United at home to Reading - a big match for both teams for different reasons.
Sunday sees the teams who where in the Europa League play and both Chelsea and Spurs really need to keep up the Champions League fight and both are predicted as fairly comfortable wins against West Ham and Fulham respectively. Newcastle are probably going to be safe but Wigan certainly aren't and a win for Newcastle will pretty much guarantee survival, a win for Wigan would be a massive three points.
I've added a few different leagues for a bit of variation as I've noticed some people from Russia, Poland and Bulgaria viewing the blog, therefore, I've included these respective leagues.

Well, to be blunt, that was a terrible Saturday for the football predictions. Everton have made their intentions clear that they haven't given up on the race for top four quite yet with a good 2-0 win over Manchester City. However, that loss really does totally end any hope that Manchester City still had on catching their rivals, Manchester Utd, who beat Reading in the evening match (my only correct prediction). But that's no all. Not only have they surrendered their title, they've now potentially been dragged into a fight for a champions league place. To be honest, they should still make it but it's no longer as clear cut as it was a few weeks back. Aston Villa versus QPR was a huge match for both teams, and a Villa win now puts them six points clear of the drop zone, in fact, there seems to be a gap starting to appear with Wigan, Reading and QPR all in deep trouble.
ReplyDeleteLiverpool's faint hopes of a top four finish has got even fainter. The form team of the Premier League slipped up against Southampton who did their survival chances no harm and now sit seven points from the bottom three - should now be safe. Stoke and West Brom are both safe and can neither threaten the European places, and that probably showed in the scoreline with a 0-0 draw. Finally, Arsenal take all three points against Swansea as they also make it clear that they're up for a fight for the top four. This will get interesting...
Turning to Europe, the French league is still in the balance. However, with Lyon losing and Marseille only managing to draw, PSG are looking good, who play St Etienne tomorrow. The German Bundsliga is a league which is definitely over in terms of the title. Bayern Munich have a 20 point lead - little more to say really. Another league which is pretty much all over is the Italian Serie A as Juventus temporarily extend their lead over Napoli to 12 points. The majority of the other games are played on Sunday. Lastly, in Spain, Real Madrid are really giving it a go to reel Barcelona in. I really can't see it happening, especially if Barcelona do the business over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
Please remember to +1 my blog - thanks...!
Therefore i'm an enormous football lover from the BRITAIN, big ally of Guy Utd, really like your site as well as subscribed to your foodstuff: -)
